These days

Well first of all, weather has been CRAZY down here! The devastation in Joplin which is only a few hours from us is heartbreaking. I cannot imagine. We have had some big time thunderstorms and a few tornado watches and warnings. Last night a bad system went through and I was not able to fall asleep until 3am. The lightening was crazy! And then again today, another yucky storm rolled through. I'm ready for sunny days!

Hadley is quite the handful these days. He has discovered the stairs and is not at all apprehensive to climb all the way up. Watch out!! I feel a little tooth just breaking the surface. He was really crabby a few weeks ago and had a low fever, so we thought maybe he was getting a tooth. I guess we were right. He has been happy this week, hopefully it stays that way.

Loren's family was here last week. It was rainy but we still had fun. It is always fun to get everyone together. Next time we see Lexi and Corey they will be a family of 5! Can't wait to meet baby girl and find out her name!!! My fam comes this weekend. It will be fun to have them as well. We are so blessed by 2 wonderful families!

Other than that, life is picking up a bit. We are starting to get to know people and enjoying time with just our wonderful family of 3. I have done a few sewing projects during nap times and have enjoyed doing some of the things that were too hard to fit in when I was working. Loren has been very busy with media stuff and marketing for Kirby's School of Wake.
Summer down here officially begins this weekend. The town will soon be flooded with people. I must say, I'm ready for it. I'm trying to work on my tan but, I do not want to be old and leathery therefore sunscreen is a MUST!
We have enjoyed boat rides and watching Loren and friends wakeboard. Hadley does pretty well on the boat. Which I'm glad, because that is a repetitive activity down here. I think that is all I have. Please pray for those in Joplin who were affected by the tornado. I truly cannot imagine the devastation they are experiencing. And pray for the rain to stop! :)

Mother's Day Number One

It was my first year to participate! Pretty fun. Hadley just isn't quite old enough to understand what all I do for him;) Loren made me a really cute card with photos of Hads. Imagine it folded...

Becoming a mother has been far more than I ever expected. As a girl, I think we have some natural instincts and you think you might know how you will be as a mother or you'll know how you will feel about your child. Everything I thought before I had Hadley was completely different than I ever expected. Sure I knew I'd love my child, enjoy being around him and doing fun things with him. I had no idea how much joy he would bring. I knew I'd be happy, but I have never experienced this sort of joy. I also never realized the overwhelming love I have for him. When I say "I love you to the moon and back!" , I really mean it!!! Even now, as he has become a little stinker! I know, I know it will get worse.

With all that being said- I now have a new appreciation for my mama. It's crazy to think the way I feel about Hadley, is the way my mom felt about me and still does. I now know how much she loves me. Thanks for all you do and have done mom. From changing poopy diapers to my teenage days to being here now as I begin the fun adventures of motherhood. I couldn't have a better example as a mom.

Happy Mother's Day (a few days late) to all the wonderful mamas out there!!

9 Months!

Oh sweet Hadley. You have crossed over. You no longer are my sweet snugly baby. You are on the go,go, go from the moment you wake. You are very curious these days-into anything and everything whether it makes sense or not. I love that you are clapping. It is your new favorite thing to do. You have discovered how to pull yourself up! As soon as you starting crawling, you wanted to move on to the next thing. We've started finger foods and you love feeding yourself little puffs. It is so fun to watch you figure it all out. You are such a sweet gift from God. I thank Him everyday for you. You light up our lives. We love you to the moon and back!

Lor has fun in photoshop:)

Goodbye Denver,Hello Lake of the O

Well here we are. All of this is finally feeling real. We are "semi settled", for now anyway. The picture is of us in front of our house one last time:( Sorry it's not that great. I was a wreck!! We left Denver last Saturday. I cried the whole way to Iowa. We drove to Iowa to spend Easter with our families. It was nice seeing everyone, took my mind off of being sad. Not sure how I am going to do this. It's so weird having no agenda, no friends to call to come over. It's just us. So far this week it has just been me and Hads. I have been a bit lonely. So, PLEASE COME VISIT! We have two weeks wide open and then toward the middle of May, things will pick up. Between people coming and us going, the summer is bound to go fast!

It's nice having it just the 3 of us. It hardly has been that way. Between having roommates and being the house that everyone hung out at, we were rarely alone. Don't get me wrong I love it, it's just a big change.
We are kind of in the sticks down here. Our cell phones don't work the best. The best shopping is Walmart. Oh and there are TONS of thrift shops. I don't really understand that? I guess I will be sewing A LOT. We will see what the summer brings...

I am realizing this sounds a bit depressing. In a sense it is. It's just a BIG change for us. But life is much simpler down here and I think we can all use a little "simple" in our lives. I also know that God has a plan here for Loren and I(and Hads). We just need to stay faithful to him, so he reveals a clear path for us. Until then, maybe I should get a job at Ozarkland. It is the souvenir shop that carries anything you could ever want. I'm kidding by the way...:)
