Baby Food

Well we are getting closer and closer to introducing solids to Mr. Hadley. I am thinking that I will make his baby food. I'm sure I will buy some too, but I would like to make the majority of it. So, my fellow mom's who make baby food-what is a good baby food maker? I want one that steams and purees. I would like it to be easy. Any thoughts? Here is one from Williams-Sonoma. Anyone use this one? Pros, cons? I would appreciate any help!

Happy Tuesday! It's 50 in Denver today-not bad for January! Hadley and I are going shoe shopping for mama. He loves shopping with me-go figure:)

To our 5 month old

Hadley-
You continue to be the best part of our day! Whether you are cranky or happy, I love being with you and love kissing your sweet chubby cheeks. Being your mom has far surpassed what I ever expected it would be like. I have been reassured over and over again that I definitley have the calling to be a mother. Though I feel clueless at times, I love the new challenges you present to me daily. Your simle can fix anything and when you laugh, my heart melts. I could not love anything more!

You are getting more and more curious. Getting really interested in us eating...perhaps we will start food soon! You are grabbing anything and everything and of course it goes into your mouth. I haven't seen it yet, but you are rolling over. I will put you in your crib and you will be on your tummy when I come check on you. Your daddy makes you laugh the most. I love to hear your sweet giggle! You are really wanting to sit up and you can for a little bit, but your bottom is still a little rounded:) It has been wild watching you grow an learn the past 5 months. We are looking forward for the continuation.
We love you to the moon and back!

Cheers to a New Year!

Happy New Year(a few days late)!! To think back over the last year, A LOT has changed! Hadley was the size of a poppy seed or something tiny like that and now he is a hefty 16 plus pounds. We had a wonderful 2010. Looking forward to what is in store for 2011...more changes?! Don't worry, no baby planned;)

We were in Iowa for about 10 days. The highlight of the trip-my sister had her baby 3 weeks early and sweet little Logan Nicholas joined us on December 23rd(the day after we got there!) In the back of my head I kept hoping she would have him while we were there, but also wasn't counting on it. It was SOOO fun to be there for it! He is perfect and Hadley and Logan are already the best of friends:)

It was great being home. We have such great families, we seriously could not ask for better. We spent our first night away from the little man. We celebrated our 4 year anniversary (it's on the 31st but we celebrated a few days before) and stayed at a Bed & Breakfast. It was just grand. We went and had sushi and then went for dessert. Hadley did wonderfully for Grandma and Grandpa, as we knew he would.

Coming back to Colorado is always an adjustment from being home. Still getting back into the swing of it all. Hadley is adjusting to not being the complete center of attention. He sure was spoiled! He is probably wondering where in the world did all those people go?! 2 weeks and then we are off to Florida with Lor's family. Hoping for warm weather!

Happy 2011!

We wish you a Merry Christmas!!

We have been busy with all the Christmas festivities! Hadley and I have enjoyed lots of baking. We made treats for our Christmas party and some to take back to Iowa. Sugar cookies, cranberry chocolate chip cookies, gingerbread men, dipped gingersnaps, peanut butter balls and chocolate caramel pretzels. The list goes on. I think this was the most that I've ever baked. Hadley was very interested. I had him in the baby bjorn a few times. A little difficult...he kept grabbing the bowl or putting his hands in the dough. He loved watching what I was doing.

We had our annual Christmas party on Saturday. This year we did ugly sweater. It was so fun. We had about 30 people there. I tried to find a sweater for Hadley but had no luck. I will have to start earlier next year. He had a Santa hat and looked adorable. Hadley was a party baby. He did so well. A bit overstimulated I think! He even went to sleep with all the noise. I wasn't sure how that was going to go. We are finding hidden white elephant gifts in our house...oh joy.

We went to the doctor last week. Hadley didn't even cry really when he got his shots!-. I was amazed! He is just a few ounces shy of 16lbs and is growing wonderfully. He is smiling and laughing more everyday.

We leave for Iowa tomorrow very early. Packing up the car with Loren and I, a baby, a great dane, a lab, all our presents and our luggage....it will be a tight fit! We are excited to go home and celebrate Hadley's first Christmas with our families. With that being said, MERRY CHRISTMAS and may we not forget the true meaning of Christmas. A baby was born thousands of years ago and lives would never be the same. GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST!!!

To Our 4 Month Old

Happy 4 month Birthday Hadley! I will probably say this every month but, I can't believe how fast time has gone! You are aa complete delight. I love spending the majority of the week with you. You are smiling and smiling now. We have even gotten you to giggle a few times. It is music to our ears! You love making noises with your lips. There is a lot of slobber that hapens when you do that. Lilly and Oliver capture your attention quite often and you don't seem to be bothered if they are barking. You survivied your first cold a few weeks back. It was so sad, but any excuse to snuggle you, I will take! But, please lets not get sick too much, okay? We have taken you to Iowa twice. We will be going home for Christmas as well. Hopefully we will get to meet your cousin, only if he comes a litle early! Thanksgiving and the Christmas season thus far have been so fun with you. You make holidays that much more fun! We are so thankful that you sleep through the night and have since you were probably 6 weeks old! Your grandmas and grandpas and aunts and uncles miss you very much! Everyone loves your chubby cheeks and sweet blue eyes. We love you to the moon and back! You are a sweet, sweet blessing to our lives!
Love,
Mama and Poppy
